IBS LECTURERS AWARDED PROFESSIONAL CERTIFICATES-IFP

September 25, 2012, Tuesday will certainly be a historic moment for IBS lecturers who have been awarded the Professional Certificate in Islamic Financial Planner (IFP) by the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of IBFIM, Dato' Dr Adnan Alias himself. The ceremony was witnessed by the Vice Chancellor of UUM, YB Prof. Dato' Dr. Mohamed Mustafa Ishak.
IFP certificate is a professional certificate issued by the Financial Planning Association of Malaysia (FPAM) through the Islamic Banking and Finance Institute of Malaysia (IBFIM) which is recognized by the Securities Commission (SC), Bank Negara Malaysia (BNM), Malaysia Takaful Association (MTA) and the Inland Revenue Board (IRB).
The lecturers from IBS who are awarded the IFP certificate include the Dean of IBS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Asmadi Mohamed Naim, Dr. Ahmad ZafarullahAbdJalil, Mr. Ali BadronMokthar, Mr. Mohamad Yazid Isa, Mrs. Noraini Yusoff and Ms. Noraziah Che Arshad, while Dr. Hasniza Mohd Taib, Mr. Shahrul Nizam Ahmad and Mrs. Suryati Ahmad Zawawi are from SEFB. All the IFP Certificate recipients are very happy and grateful for the achievements, particularly for being among the pioneers of the MoA cooperation program signed by UUM and IBFIM.
Lecturers who have IFP certificates are eligible to teach BIFB-IFP students to allow students to obtain a degree and professional certificate IFP simultaneously. Since the IFP is a recognized professional certificate in the field of Islamic banking and finance, the students with the IFP certificate will certainly be more competitive in the labor market.
According to the Dean of IBS, another workshop for the preparation of IBS lecturers who do not have the IFP certificates will be held in the near future. He sincerely hope that IBS lecturers will strive to obtain the IFP certificate to ensure the success and continuity of the MoA between UUM and IBFIM, particularly the BIFB-IFP program. This will simultaneously increase the number of Professional Quality (PQ) as standards 10 for academic staff in AACSB to help COB achieve AACSB.
